Sponsoring non-profit organization: Child Advocates, which is the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) chosen by the courts in Marion County (Indianapolis), Indiana to represent the best interests of abused and neglected children. Child Advocates fulfills their mission through advocacy, monitoring, evaluation, fact-finding and mediation.


  • Organized a bowling party for foster youth to educate them about the benefits of joining Fostering Youth Connections of Indiana and signing them up as members
  • Reaching out to youth serving organizations to build the invitation list for the bowling party/new member event
  • Witnessing the California Youth Connection Policy and Leadership conference and gaining inspiration about how they can improve foster care in Indiana
  • Networking with organizations throughout Indiana to raise the visibility of FYCI
  • Completion of the organizational infrastructure, including promotional materials, member application and a plan to receive training and coaching from Foster Youth in Action
