Youth Organizing Institute

Want to take action with your peers to make a change in your local foster care system? FYA's Youth Organizing Institute shows you how!

Institutes are offered periodically to youth and young adults directly impacted by the foster care system, as well as alums and adult allies, who want to build their organizing skills and knowledge.

Over three days, participants receive training on a variety of key organizing topics including: political education and the history of the child welfare system, power analysis, community listening, issue identification, and campaign development.

Institutes also cover facilitation techniques to help build the skills of youth organizers in leading this work with their peers.

All participants receive a copy of FYA's Foster Youth Organizing Curriculum.
