Foster Power: A Curriculum for Collective Action
Curriculum created by FYA, CYC and SOUL to support the organizing work of young people with experience in foster care
Released in January 2019, Foster Power: A Curriculum for Collective Action provides activities and tools to young leaders and their adult supporters the essential work of youth organizing. Inside you'll a set of seven detailed workshops designed to:
- Introduce young people to the concepts, theory, and practice of youth organizing
- deepen young people's critical analysis of their conditions and the root causes of these conditions
- Support the building and mobilizing of a powerful base of youth members
- Unpacking the steps and approaches to developing a campaign to win on a key issue young people care about.
Each workshop has a comprehensive facilitator's outline and tools for immediate use and application, and each offers space for exploring ideas, concepts, and building community.
